My name is Josephine - I have always loved animals - I owned 8 Dobermans and reared 4 children, I had Siamese - a Himalayan - Black Orientals and now "Devons".
I was also a dog trainer/instructor for Werriwa Dog Training School.

I have always believed that a family is not complete without a pet.

I have to say this - some people have a perception in their heads that if you love dogs, you cannot love cats, because cats are different. When in a conversation, I state that I have Devon Rex cats,
the next thing some people say is "Oh! I am a dog person!" - "Well! so was I!". Therefore, for me to adore a Devon Rex must mean that the temperament and type
must be similar to dogs, also, some of the reasons why I breed Devons is for people who would love the companionship of a dog or cat.

Some do not own dogs or cats because of allergies - I too have been allergic to dogs and cats but never allowed that to stop me from owning a pet - I could not live without them.
Even on my photography bag I have a saying "The more dealings I have with people, the more I love my cats !" I have found Devons to be like the loyal puppies that follow you everywhere,
but at the same time have a grace and air and ever so clean. I love rubbing my face into their tummies, they also have their crazy play moods.
They love to fetch and bring back a long string as if to say - "Here I've bought you a snake for food".

My female queens are like a masterpiece as they drape themselves around window sills or the lounge - yes! - they are time wasters. If you intend on living in the fast lane which could land
you to a short and stressful life, you should consider a Devon as when you get home you will need something for that blood pressure. Research has shown that stroking a cat will
decrease high blood pressure, they also help with depression and do not judge you! Devons love you unconditionally and they want to live with you on equal terms.
My family and I love them - I hope they will make a lasting change for you.

When kittens come along, you experience eye strain just by looking at the wonders of them, the expressions and changes they make from birth until 10 to 12 weeks old.
Our Devons are all very special to us.

Our kittens are in-house raised, roaming free throughout the house (of course at different stages of development) all over our best furniture so that by the time they come to you they will already understand what the kitty litter tray is. They get used to the dishwasher sound, they have weekly nail trims (so that they are used to being groomed). Devons are very people orientated, they like both males and females as we have 2 teenage sons and 2 daughters. They are nursed and carried around the house, some like to sleep with the boys.
So far, I have never had any of our kittens not fit into their new surrounds.
